Activities & Initiatives (Greenhouse)
Within the deanery, there are numerous ongoing and regular activities and initiatives that we like to refer to as our "greenhouse." Just as a greenhouse is a nurturing environment where plants can thrive and grow, we aim to create a similarly favourable space where ideas can flourish, and, through mutual support and encouragement, individuals can grow and develop themselves.
Just as a greenhouse has distinct sections for different types of plants, our greenhouse also fosters learning and growth through smaller groups or "potting sheds," each focusing on specific areas of missionary interest.
The Bicester and Islip Deanery Greenhouse currently consists of five "potting sheds,"
each centred around a particular mission activity:
Older people
Hospitality
Youth
Eco
Children
Below, you can explore each potting shed in more detail. While some of the one-off and special activities taking place in our greenhouse are advertised on the "What's On" page, we encourage you to look through the individual potting sheds for information on regular activities, which may sometimes go unnoticed elsewhere.
